  • DCDSB 2023-2024 Professional Activity Days Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers: Durham Catholic District School Board has Professional Activity (PA) days throughout the school year. During these non-instructional days, students do not attend school, while staff engage in professional learning and activities.
  • Archbishop Francis Leo visits Durham Catholic District School Board It was a special afternoon on August 23, as Archbishop Francis Leo presided over Mass with Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) principals, vice-principals, superintendents and staff. Held during his first visit to DCDSB since his appointment as the Archbishop of Toronto in March 2023, the Mass was also an opportunity to commission new administrators.

  • DCDSB 2022-2023 Year End Message Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers: As the 2022-2023 school year is coming to an end, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past ten months which have been filled with learning, excitement and the joy of community. We are so pleased that students, staff and families have once again had opportunities to engage with one another in celebrations of faith, co-curricular activities, field trips, proms, graduations and retirements.
  • Student Indigenous Education Circle Mural Celebration Students, staff, families, Indigenous Education Circle members, and community members joined together on June 28, 2023, to celebrate the new mural created by Indigenous youth within DCDSB. The student-designed mural, located at the entrance to the Catholic Education Centre, is the culmination of an 18-month process of learning facilitated through the Indigenous Education Department whereby Indigenous students worked with local artists and collectively discerned the symbols and images that they wished to incorporate into the final product.
  • On your Mark, Get Set, Get Set, Get Set.....GO! Due to rain and poor air quality, it was a challenge, but with the assistance of our Elementary Track and Field leads, all eight DECA Track and Field Meets did successfully go forward! Over 2,800 student athletes were able to showcase their amazing athletic talents. School winners of these Regional Meets were: Sir Albert Love Catholic School St.
  • DCDSB – Air Quality Update for June 28, 2023 Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers: The safety of students and staff is a top priority for the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB).    A special air quality statement has been issued for Durham Region due to smoke from forest fires causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.
  • DCDSB Oshawa Program and Boundary Study Approved Recommendations Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers: This letter is to inform you that at the Regular Board Meeting held on June 19, 2023, the Durham Catholic District School Board of Trustees approved the recommended program and boundary revisions as a result of the Oshawa Program and Boundary Study.  Why did the study take place? The Oshawa Program and Boundary Study was initiated to address potential program and service delivery models at one or more Durham Catholic District School Board schools in Oshawa which are being impacted by the increased growth in north Oshawa, and due to the Ministry of Education announcement in July of 2020 to replace Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School with a Grade 7-12 school.
