  • 2024 Oshawa Junior Fire Chief On June 6, Oshawa Fire Services announced their 2024 Junior Fire Chief at Sir Albert Love Catholic School! Grade 5 and 6 students submitted videos on smoke alarms and home escape planning. Gabriel, a Grade 6 student, earned the title of 2024 Junior Fire Chief! At a special assembly, Gabriel was award fantastic prizes and even got to leave in a firetruck for an exclusive tour of the Oshawa Fire headquarters! As Junior Fire Chief, Gabriel will promote fire safety at school, home and in the community.

  • DCDSB and Student Services Staff Represented by APSSP Announce Tentative Agreement The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative settlement for a renewed collective agreement with the school board professional student services staff represented by the Association of Professional Student Services Personnel (APSSP). The details of the Memorandum of Settlement remain confidential and are subject to local ratification by the APSSP professional student services membership and the DCDSB Board of Trustees.
  • Spots Still Available for Elementary and Secondary Summer Courses and Programs Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre offers a number of summer courses and programs for students in elementary and secondary school. Elementary Programs and Courses Are you a Grade 8 student starting high school in the fall? The Head Start Programis available to all Grade 8 students going into Grade 9 at one of our Durham Catholic District School Board high schools and will run August 19 - 22.
  • Grade 7 and 8 Students Participate in the Annual Young Women in Science, Technology and Trades Conference On April 24 and 25, Grade 7 and 8 students from Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School participated in the annual Young Women in Science, Technology and Trades Conference hosted by Durham College. The day started with an inspirational keynote speaker and welder, Promise Lafrance.
