  • Durham Catholic District School Board Director of Education Announces Retirement At the Regular Board Meeting on February 26, 2024, Tracy Barill, Director of Education, announced her retirement after a 36-year career in Catholic education. Director Barill began her career with DCDSB in 1988 as an Educational Assistant.

  • Student-Led Group ABLE talk about February Forever and Black History Month Students in the Aspiring Black Students Led by Excellence (ABLE) group at Archbishop Denis O'Connor Catholic High School (DOC) talk about their initiatives for February Forever and Black History Month. The group also shares their goals for the school year and beyond at DOC.

The Foundation has been actively working towards this mission for the past 10 years, and we have made significant strides in providing essential services and support to children and families in need.
  • Learning About Treaties in NBE3U Recently Grade 11 students in the NBE3U class (Understanding Contemporary First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Voices) at Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School engaged in multifaceted learning about treaties in Canada. They examined what treaties are, explored historic and modern treaties, and reviewed disagreements that have arisen over treaties.

  • Durham Catholic District School Board Presents Be You, Be Well: A Black Mental Health Day Event Monday, March 4, 2024, marks the fifth annual Black Mental Health Day, recognized by communities across Ontario. On Black Mental Health Day, we are called to recognize the ongoing impact on mental health that results from experiences of anti-Black racism and to raise awareness of the specific mental health needs of Black communities.
