  • DCDSB Staff Participate in VTRA Training with Kevin Cameron On November 13 and 14, DCDSB staff were joined by colleagues from neighbouring school boards to participate in Violent Risk Threat Assessment (VTRA) Level 2 Training with Kevin Cameron, Executive Director, Center for Trauma Informed Practices. The VTRA model is a trauma-informed framework that serves as the foundation to Community Threat Assessment and Intervention Protocol, that is in place in Durham region.
  • Students Shine in Mathletes Competition at St. Joseph Catholic School in Uxbridge On Friday, November 8, St. Joseph Catholic School in Uxbridge hosted its inaugural Mathletes competition, with enthusiastic participation from Grade 3-8 students.
  • Observing National Indigenous Veterans Day at Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School On November 8, Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School observed National Indigenous Veterans Day by showcasing different stories of Indigenous Veterans throughout the school. Some of these tributes included stories from soldiers who fought on the frontlines, stories from nurses who treated the soldiers, stories from the home-front, and stories surrounding language and how the Cree Code Talkers shaped the war.
  • Students Explore their Relationship with the Land at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School On November 18, Grade 7 and 8 students at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School participated in learning with members of the Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) Indigenous Education team.
